Kajabi to Moodle: Stop Renting Your Own Academy.
Kajabi charges $149–$399 every month, forever, and takes its cut of your business either way. A self-hosted Moodle is yours: no monthly platform fee, no transaction percentage, no feature tiers. We move your courses, members and payment setup for a fixed $300 — most creators recover that in their second month.
Everything Kajabi Does, Moodle Does Too
The honest mapping, feature for feature.
| Kajabi | Self-Hosted Moodle | |
|---|---|---|
| Course builder & dripping | Included (tiered) | Included — restrict access by date, completion or group |
| Community | Included (higher tiers) | Forums, groups and messaging built in |
| Checkout & payments | Platform fees apply | Stripe / PayPal direct — 0% platform cut |
| Email marketing | Tier-limited sends | Your choice of tool, or Moodle messaging & notifications |
| Funnels & landing pages | Built in | WordPress + Moodle (Edwiser Bridge) or Moodle pages |
| Your data & exit rights | Export limits apply | Full database and files — yours, always |
Kajabi prices are published list prices (monthly billing) as of October 2026. Moodle is free open-source software; your only costs are hosting and any services you choose.
How the Move Works
Rehearsed on a copy, cut over once.
1. Export & inventory
We inventory your Kajabi courses, lessons, offers and member list, and export everything Kajabi allows out — videos, files, member data.
2. Build & rebuild
Your Moodle is deployed ($200) with branding to match your current site. Courses are rebuilt natively, members imported, Stripe/PayPal connected for enrolment on payment.
3. Redirect & relaunch
Old links are redirected, members get a welcome-back email with fresh logins, and Kajabi is cancelled only after your first real sale lands on Moodle.

Kajabi Migration Questions
How much does the Kajabi to Moodle migration cost?
A fixed $300 for the migration, plus $200 if you also want us to deploy and brand your new Moodle. Both are quoted in writing before work starts. Most creators recover the combined cost within two months of cancelled Kajabi fees.
What happens to my existing members?
Members are imported with their course access rebuilt. They receive a welcome email with a fresh password link. Purchase history stays visible in your Stripe/PayPal account, which you keep throughout.
Can Moodle take payments like Kajabi?
Yes. With a payment gateway or a WooCommerce bridge (Edwiser), students pay by card and are enrolled automatically. The difference: no platform takes a percentage of your sales.
What about my Kajabi community and email list?
Communities map to Moodle forums and groups. Email marketing stays with your existing provider (or we connect one) — your list exports from Kajabi as CSV and imports anywhere.
Will my course videos move?
Yes. Videos are downloaded from Kajabi where export permits and re-hosted on your Moodle or an embedded video host, then relinked lesson by lesson and verified.
