The Math

Why a Plan Beats Panic-Hiring

A single emergency during exam week costs more than a year of Essential Care.

Emergencies don't schedule

White screens, failed crons, and broken plugins strike during enrolment and exams — exactly when you can least afford downtime. Monitoring catches most of them before your students do.

Updates stop being scary

Every Moodle security release is applied on a staging copy and tested against your plugins first. You stay current without the upgrade anxiety that keeps sites stuck on Moodle 3.x for years.

One throat to choke

No ticket queues, no account managers. You talk directly to the senior engineer who maintains your site — the same person who answers at 2 a.m. when it matters.

FAQ

Support Plan Questions

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. All plans are month-to-month with no annual lock-in. Cancel before your next billing date and you keep coverage until the end of the paid month. Your backups remain downloadable for 30 days after cancellation.

My Moodle is old (3.x / 4.0). Can you still cover it?

Yes — but honestly, the first month usually includes a stabilization review. We'll tell you upfront if an upgrade to Moodle 4.5 LTS or 5.2 is the smarter move, with a fixed quote before any work starts.

What counts as a "small fix"?

Anything a senior engineer resolves in under an hour: broken plugin settings, theme tweaks, user role fixes, quiz display issues, email deliverability, cron errors. Bigger work (custom plugins, migrations) gets a separate fixed quote — plan members get 10% off project rates.

Do you cover custom plugins and themes?

Yes. Unlike most maintenance providers, we actually write Moodle plugins — so custom code doesn't scare us. Third-party plugin conflicts are diagnosed on staging before anything touches production.

Where is my data backed up?

Off-site, in a different region from your production server, encrypted at rest. Backups include the full database and moodledata filedir, and we test-restores quarterly so a backup is never just a hope.

How fast is emergency response, really?

Essential: under 8 hours. Professional: under 2 hours. Institution: under 1 hour, around the clock. Response means a senior engineer actively working on your issue — not an auto-reply.
